University of Texas' MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston has reported a data breach affecting potentially 30,000 of its patients, according to a Houston Chronicle report. The data, including names, treatment and research information and Social Security numbers, was on an unencrypted computer stolen from an MD Anderson faculty member's home April 30, according to the report. The computer has not been recovered; however, MD Anderson officials do not believe the computer was stolen for its patient information.
