Physicians, healthcare professionals and medical students should be wary of social media blurring the line between their professional and personal lives, according to a recent British Medical Association report.
BMA's guidance encourages physicians and other medical professionals to consider adopting conservative privacy settings on their social media accounts, declining Facebook friend requests from current or former patients and recounting their ethical and legal duty to protect patient confidentiality, even over social media.
