Health Information Technology

New York City-based Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center had clinical data and private information, in some cases Social Security numbers, mistakenly leaked onto two medical professional organizations' websites earlier this year, according to a Long Island Press report. Memorial Sloan-Kettering discovered the data incident when it found graphs for a PowerPoint presentation that inadvertently contained embedded information, according to the report. Patient names, phone numbers, addresses and Social Security numbers may have been viewed if the PowerPoint presentation was manipulated. The number of patients affected is unclear.
