The Inland Empire Health Information Exchange comprised of 48 healthcare organizations in Riverside and San Bernardino, Calif., has "gone live," according to a Healthcare IT News report.
Authorized users will be able to access patient information through a secure Web-based clinical portal. Orion Health, a provider of workflow and clinical technology, built the IT infrastructure and the platform powering the HIE.
Development of the Inland Empire HIE began three years ago when Riverside County Medical Association, the San Bernardino County Medical Society and the Hospital Association of Southern California in Los Angeles partnered.
