New App Offers Arthritis Information for Patients, Providers

Zimmer Holdings has announced a new free patient education app, Arthritis 411, to help patients learn about arthritis pain and to help providers guide patients in treatment decisions, according to a Zimmer news release. Arthritis 411 addresses these needs:
•    For patients, the app serves as an interactive, custom way to explore a variety of videos, images and information about joint pain and treatment options.
•    For providers, the app is a point of care tool to help explain causes of joint pain and treatment options. Surgeons can use the app to leverage simple animations and other tools to help patients understand diagnosis, x-ray images and surgery options.

Arthritis 411 also offers personalized content on a variety of subjects:
•    Arthritis and human anatomy;
•    Treatment options;
•    Testimonials from patients;
•    Preparation and recovery strategies.
