On average, orthopedic surgeons and subspecialists received five weeks of vacation, two weeks of continuing medical education/paid time off and $10,000 relocation, according to the "2011 Orthopedic Recruiting Trends & Starting Salary Overview" from Orthopedic Recruiting Group. The median salary and sign-on bonus varied between subspecialists.
