Here are 10 spine surgeons who recently announced professional moves or promotions.

Hospital for Special Surgery named Todd J. Albert, MD, surgeon in chief and medical director effective July 1. He is currently chairman of the department of orthopedics and president of The Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.

 

Board-certified neurosurgeon Ryan DenHaese, MD, opened AXIS Neurosurgery and Spine in Williamsville, N.Y. He has an interest in minimally invasive techniques and his practice includes two satellite offices.

 

OrthoIndy and Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital in Indianapolis welcomed Zachary Dodd, MD, a neurological surgeon with a special focus on the spine.

 

Joyme Hiratzka, MD, a spine surgeon at Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University's Brain Institute, agreed to provide care at Advanced Orthopedic and sports Medicine in Hermiston, Ore.

Nevada Neurosciences Institute at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas welcomed Kelly Schmidt, MD, a surgeon focused on adult and pediatric neurosurgery.

 

Spine surgeon Charles M. Sonu, MD, joined Anaheim, Calif.-based Healthpointe Medical Group after completing a fellowship in complex deformity surgery at Minnesota Spine Center in Minneapolis.

 

Orthopedic spine surgeon Adrian J. Thomas, MD, joined the medical staff of St. Joseph Healthcare in Nashua, N.H. He practices with New Hampshire NeuroSpine Institute.
